Ancient newcomer Lekr0 reveals they are in talks with a ”well-known” organization

av Simon Engstrand

Jonas ”Lekr0” Olofsson is the most recent addition to the Swedish squad of Ancient.
On Sunday they qualified for Dreamhack Malmö. Once there however, they might be competing under a new banner, as Lekr0 reveals they are in discussions with a ”well-known” organization.
– I think we can do well at Dreamhack Malmö and from there on out I think we’ll only move upwards, the Swede tells Aftonbladet Esport.

With full support from his former team mates in Publiclir, Jonas ”Lekr0” Olofsson accepted the so far biggest opportunity for him in Counter-Strike. The Swede joined up with Markus ”pronax” Wallsten, Simon ”twist” Eliasson, Mathias ”Pauf” KöhlerAndreas ”znajder” Lindberg and manager Alexander ”rdl” Redl in the newly formed Ancient squad.
– My first thought was; ’Should I really leave my team for a trial spot in another lineup?’. In the end I felt like I couldn’t say no. It was such a big chance for me to move up in the scene. It didn’t take long before I had decided to accept, Lekr0 tells Aftonbladet Esport on the subject.

The world famous CS:GO player and coach, Jonatan ”Devilwalk” Lundberg, had been forced to leave the team and focus on his health, due to a hand injury. Therefor a slot opened up for Lekr0.
– Replacing such a big profile felt special and a little scary in the beginning, since he’s such a liked and known person, the Swede says.

”Pronax uses everyone in a good way”

Though he’s not been with the team for all that long, they’ve already started to show good results. He debuted with Ancient at Pantamera CS:GO Challenge and won the entire tournament, defeating teams such as Orgless and Aleksi ”allu” Jalli’s ENCE. Recently the squad also secured a spot for Dreamhack Masters in Malmö, Sweden.

How do you like it in the team?
– You can really tell how good these guys are. It feels great to play in a team like this, where you trust everyone and know how skilled they are. You also learn a lot since they have so much experience.

Pronax is an extremely recognized in-game leader. What’s it like playing under his leadership?
– It’s so obvious that he have the experience and background which he does. He listens to what everyone are saying, while I’ve often felt like other in-game leaders only execute their own plans. Pronax uses everyone in a good way, and you get a really strong mix out of it, Lekr0 says.

Accused for cheating

Google searches for ”Lekr0” quickly leads to cheating accusations towards the young Swede. In particular from a Danish tourney in 2015, in which his team were first disqualified – but later the admins changed their minds. The Swede himself takes the accusations with ease.
– It was mostly a good experience for me, there were some hype and my name got exposure. ”Is he cheating or not?”. I just think it’s positive.

Niels Christian ”NaToSaphiX” Sillassen covered the events in a video:

In discussions with a famous organization

When asked about finding an organization, the Ancient newcomer says they’ve been working hard to find one. He doesn’t want to reveal any details, but says the discussions have boiled down to two organizations, one which he describes as ”well-known to most people” and another that according to him is less famous.

What are your thoughts about the future for you and the team.
– I think we can do well at Dreamhack Malmö and from there on out I think we’ll only get better. We want to play in the majors of course.
