Markus ”pronax” Wallsten led Fnatic to victory over Team EnvyUs in the grand finals of ESL One Cologne.
Two months later the tables have turned and now the french stars are set to play in the semi finals of Dreamhack Cluj after beating the Swedes.
– If we win this major we are the best for me, Dan ”apEX” Madesclaire tells Aftonbladet Esport.

EnvyUs went into the major in Cluj-Napoca as one of the favorites to win the whole thing. After a dominating performance against Swedish Fnatic, Dan ”apEX” Madesclaire and his teammates are now set to play in the semi finals.
– Beating Fnatic at a major was one of my goals because we lost against them in the Cologne finals which was pretty hard for us, apEX tells Aftonbladet Esport and continues:
– We focused a lot on beating them, because as I’ve said, they are still the best team in the world and we have to prove that we can do something against them and beat them in a major.

”I was like ’what the fuck?'”

Fnatic opened up the match by beating EnvyUs on Mirage. The frenchmen came back on Cobblestone and went on to completely demolish the Swedes on Cache.
– Once again in a major we play the hardest quarter final, it has happened to us many times.
– It’s pretty hard with Vincent ”Happy” Cervoni, because you don’t know which maps he is going to pick. Especially against Fnatic – he is so strange about that. He does that alone and doesn’t need anyone. We saw the maps just before the match and when I saw Mirage I was a bit surprised. We are pretty strong on Mirage at the moment, but they were better. We picked Cobblestone and I was like ’what the fuck?’. But of course I trust Happy and he did his job. When I saw the third map, Cache, I was really happy.

”That’s the bad thing about Kenny”

In the grand finals of the last major, ESL One Cologne, Fnatic beat EnvyUs. Super star Kenny ”KennyS” Schrub played his possibly worse game of the whole tourney. This time however, things seemed better.
– The problem with Kenny is that his temper can be so high, but also so low sometimes. We are trained to work with him about that. If you want to be the best team in the world you can’t be like that. That’s the bad thing about Kenny.

In said final, EnvyUs took a strong lead on the first map Dust2, but Fnatic managed to miraculously come back and also win the next map, Cobblestone, convincingly – a comeback that supposedly messed with KennyS’s head.
– He was really pissed off and really mad, but you can’t give up. You have to be there for the team. Even if you’re not playing good individually you have to be there for the team because it’s a team game.

Is there anyone you want to play in particular going forward in the major?
– If you want to win a major – you have to beat any one.
– I want to beat Team Solomid, because many say they are going to win the major. I want to show that we can be better then them. I want to show everyone that we are the best team in the world.

Do you think you are the best team in the world?
– No. We have to prove it at this major. If we win this major we are the best for me.
