Despite high expectations, Bad Monkey Gaming failed to take their second title at ESWC in Paris.
Now Sonia Garcia has chosen to leave the team – a decision she made clear to her teammates right after the tournament.
– We agreed that it would be the best solution, Julia ”Juliano” Kiran says.

The Swedish/Spanish Bad Monkey Gaming has won everything there is to win within the female CS:GO scene. During ESWC in late October they were set to claim another trophy as they were the favourites to win the tournament.
But the competition ended disappointingly for the team as they only managed to win third prize, and afterwards BMG sat down to discuss the future.
Sonia had talked about leaving even before ESWC. We talked after the tournament since we had an opportunity when everyone were face to face. She had too much school and other stuff so she couldn’t dedicate enough time to CS:GO like the rest of us, Julia ”Juliano” Kiran says.

”She’s always been a terrific player”

The team immediately started looking for a replacement and the reason they haven’t gone public until now is because they wanted to wait until they found that player. Now they have, in Russian born Ksenia ”vilga” Klyuenkova, previously in ACES-ladies.
– She’s always been a terrific player and was one of the first we thought of. She’s been wanting to play with us since we were in Druidz so we’ve known about her. She had everything we wanted to have in a player which is hard to find when you’re one of the best teams and looking to find someone who’s already ”there”

In BMG, vilga will be an alternate AWP:er along with Juliano and will also help the captain with her calls.
– I’ll try to use her as my right hand so I get more help with tactics, she says.

”Glad to become part of such a strong team”

And vilga is eager to join the team.
”I’m very glad to become a part of such a strong team, and hope that I can bring something new into it”she says in a public statement.
BMG are now looking forward to Copenhagen Games and are also looking into playing an lan in February, but since that isn’t confirmed Juliano doesn’t want to disclose which one she’s talking about.
Tomorrow they play their first competitive game with the new lineup, against ESWC champions 3DMAX in the Gameplan league.
– We recently started praccing, so we just want to get this game done and see where we stand, Juliano says.

Rumors have also circulated that Therese ”lillsan” Petersson is also leaving BMG, but Juliano doesn’t want to comment.
