Kory ”SEMPHIS” Friesens testimonial, admitting the use of Adderall during ESL One Katowice, sparked a hot debate about performance enhancing drugs.
Recently ESL published new details regarding how the drug testing will be done, and now the famous Danish player and commentator, Casper ”cadiaN” Møller, voices his concern on the matter.
– It’s a weird situation and very new for us in esports, he tells Aftonbladet Esport.

Earlier this summer, at ESWC Montreal, Kory ”SEMPHIS” Friesen admitted to the use of Adderall during ESL One Katowice, a testimonial that sparked a hot debate regarding performance enhancing drugs. Soon ESL had created a new set of rules to prevent doping, and on Wednesday they published new details regarding how the testing will be done. The danish CS:GO-profile, Casper ”cadiaN” Møller, believes that -thanks to the openness of ESL – these new rules are going to successfully prevent the use of drugs at the upcoming major, ESL One Cologne.
– It’s a weird situation, and very new for us in esports, cadiaN tells Aftonbladet Esport and continues:
– For me, the essence is that if one guy is doing any drugs to give himself a better performance, that guy should be stopped. Not only because it’s unfair, but also because of his own health. I don’t care how many people are doing it, no one should be doing it.

”It’s been an insanely tough schedule”

Having played for famous organizations such as Mousesports and Copenhagen Wolves, the 20-year old dane is no stranger to the CS:GO-community. Other than being a talented player, he is also known for analyzing and commentating at big events such as ESL One Katowice. However, all of this has happened in the shadow of something else that has been taking up most of his time: School.
– It’s been an insanely tough schedule, playing and having school. Also I’m a very social guy outside of the game, so I’ve had a lot of commitments, cadiaN says and mentions local politics as an example.

A little over two months ago, SK-Gaming announced their new CS:GO squad, with players such as Michael ”Friis” Jørgensen, Jesper ”Tenzki” Plougmann and Nicolai ”HUNDEN” Petersen. Since then HUNDEN and Tenzki has left, and SK recently announced the latest addition to their team, namely CadiaN. Now that school is over, the young dane predicts a future filled with new esport adventures.
– Finally I’m done with that, so I’m going to have at least one year focusing on CS, he says and continues:
– Not having to think about doing home work, assignments and meeting up at school everyday from 8 to 15, it’s just going to be a completely different life this year.

Do you feel like you’ve missed out, not being able to focus on CS?
– One hundred percent. You miss out on timing, experience and meta game. You can get that back fairly quickly, but I could feel it in the last two events, with only one week of preparation, that I’ve not been in my best shape. I’ve had moments, but I’ve also been doing some misplays which maybe is not obvious for the viewers.
