The last couple of years, the CS:GO community has become used to a major during Dreamhack Winter.
This year the last major tournament of 2015 ended up in Cluj-Napoca, but that doesn’t stop Dreamhack from organizing a huge tournament at their annual LAN event.
”We’re working hard to make this the greatest DreamHack Open Winter yet,” says Tomas Lyckedal, Business Developer at DreamHack, according to a press release published on Dreamhacks website.

One of the most anticipated LAN events of the year is on the horizon. In Jönköping, Sweden, Dreamhack Winter have been conducting their events for the last 20 years.

In recent years those attending the LAN have also been fortunate enough to witness to some of the best major tournaments of the season in CS:GO . A tournament that this time around will be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and not Sweden.

However, that doesn’t stop Dreamhack from organizing a huge CS:GO event during Dreamhack. In collaboration with FACEIT, the Swedish company has allocated 250 000 dollars for a tourney where some of the best teams in the world will battle it out for the glory of becoming a Dreamhack Winter Champion.
”Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the most played games on FACEIT and this tournament is a ‘thank you’ to the players and fans who use our platform to take part in its intense competitions, leagues and tournaments online,” said Alessandro ‘stermy’ Avallone, Chief Gaming Officer of FACEIT, in a press release published on Dreamhacks website.
