Ninjas in Pyjamas adventure at ESL One Katowice will continue on Saturday when they face Team Solomid in the quarter finals.
And according to Patrik ”f0rest” Lindberg, the team is relieved they made it out of the treacherous BO1 groups.
– It’s been a bit of a curse for us so it feels good we made it out relatively smooth. But we’re at our absolute strongest during BO3:s, the star says.

Ninjas in Pyjamas will face the Danish squad Team SoloMid in the quarter finals of ESL One Katowice on Saturday, a team that already stated they’re ready to take on the Swedish legends. Meanwhile, it’s a relieved Patrik ”f0rest” Lindberg who shares his thoughts on the group stage. NiP have had a tough time with BO1:s in a couple of tournaments and that’s something the team recognizes.
– It’s been a bit of a curse for us so it feels good we made it out relatively smooth, f0rest says.

Do you feel a lot more secure just getting to play BO3:s?
– Of course, I think that’s when we’re at our absolute strongest and feel the most comfortable. BO3:s are really where we can reach our full potential because even if we lose the first map we know exactly what to do to win the remaining two. It’s like playing on home field when we go into a BO3.

”Allu was a bit worried how we would communicate”

And f0rest doesn’t really care which team they will be facing, even if it turned out to be Team SoloMid who they’ve eliminated from several tournaments in the past.
– You have to be able to beat all the teams that are here to claim the title.

This is your first big tournament with Allu, how has that been for you so far?
– Allu said he was a bit worried about how we would communicate here compared to our bootcamps, but he was actually surprised by how good we were talking and how good he was talking. It’s calm and controlled, the way it should be. We switched to english sometimes but that happens when important information needs to be understood, f0rest says and continues:
– We try to speak Swedish most of the time but during important rounds when crucial information is shared we can’t afford to risk that he doesn’t understand, so we have to do it in english.

”Xizt put up a great performance”

GeT_RiGhT said you and friberg did most of the work in groups and that he didn’t have to do that much, how did you personally feel?
– I think both games went okay. I’m not gonna overhype my own performance but it went well. I think friberg stood out most in the first game. He had two important clutches that gave us a chance to snowball as T and also Xizt who shut down the last two rounds as CT and put up a great performance. It felt like the whole team jumped in and helped.

Tomorrow at 1PM TSM and NiP enter the quarter finals.
