Fifflaren: I am extremely happy about the support

av Tobias Lundgren

Normally, he’s on the receiving end of an endless stream of hate and criticism. But when Robin ”Fifflaren” Johansson woke up this morning, he was greeted by the unwavering love from his fans.
– I was really moved when I woke up and saw over 100 notifications on Twitter.

In the article from yesterday, Fifflaren talked, for the first time, about the constant harassment from CS:GO-fans who don’t think he’s got what it takes to play in Ninjas in Pyjamas. The article was then shared thousands of times – but the difference this time compared to the discussion that usually surrounds him was that the comments were almost exclusively positive and supportive.
– I am extremely happy about that and it feels really wonderful. I was so touched when I woke up and saw over 100 notifications on Twitter.

”Could change people’s view of me”

On Reddit, the interview was among the top articles during the evening and morning. And the users took turns love-bombing the often scolded player. Now, he’s happy he shared his view of the criticism.
– I’ve mentioned it here and there during interviews, but never made a big deal out of it. Maybe it was good that people got to read about it, so they can make up their own opinion of what I’m facing every day. That could possible change their view of me and change the way they think.

”I was definitely surprised”

Were you surprised at all when you saw all the support?

– I’ve always had people supporting me, but it’s usually 50 / 50. There are always people who wanna throw me under the bus, and then people moving in to protect me. But after this interview almost all of the comments have been positive and that’s never happened before, so I was definitely surprised by that.

How does this affect you?

– I definitely feel strengthened by it. Good to know that people can be supportive even though I’m having a bad performance.

”I see what you write even if I don’t always reply”

He sends shoutouts to all of the people taking the time to support him after the interview. – It’s been really great reading all of the comments and seeing the positive attitudes. And even though I don’t reply to everything I can still see what you’re writing.
