This weekend former Fnatic coach Jonatan ”Devilwalk” Lundbergs new team 1337 beat LGB Esports and will now be able to attend the qualifier for ESL One i Cologne.
However, the team faces issues ahead of the offline qualifier in Germany.

1337 will travel to the offline qualifiers in Cologne ahead of the second major of the year. Jonatan ”Devilwalk” Lundbergs new team pulled off a surprising win over Norwegian side LGB Esports to qualifier to the next, offline, stage.

However, a rule at ESL will force the team to leave one of the five behind since the team won over LGB Esports without Devilwalk, Andreas ”Schneider” Lindberg and Mathias ”Pauf” Köhler. According to the rule, the competing team at the offline qualifier must use a majority of the players who played in the online version. This, in short, means that one of the trio will not be able to compete in the offline qualifiers.

Since the team left Team Property the former in-game leader, André ”Berg” Kjellberg, was replaced by the former Fnatic coach Devilwalk. The team still lacks an organization backing up their endeavours, but with a possible spot in a major on the horizon, 1337 hopes to be able to sign with an organization.
– We are having conversations with organizations who want to send us to the qualifiers and the major if we make it that far.
