HeatoN on the signing of Natu: ”He was our first choice”
avThe CS:GO professional community is going through some major overhauls at the moment.
On the other side of the pond, the roster shuffle is in full bloom. In Europe the major news is that Ninjas in Pyjamas have made elected to go with a new coach.
– He felt like the most obvious choice. We were looking for a player who recently had stopped playing but still hade vast amounts of experience from the professional scene. And the fact that Joona ”natu” Leppänen is great guy how’s very knowledgable in CS made the decision fairly easy, Emil ”HeatoN” Christensen tells Aftonbladet Esport.
The 2015 season in CS:GO have not being the best of years for one of the most acclaimed teams in the world. Ninjas in Pyjamas have been falling short in finals all year, and now the organization have made a step towards progress.
Faruk ”pita” Pita will no longer be coaching the team. According to team manager, Emil ”HeatoN” Christensen, the reason is that the former coachs new job at a local bank i Sweden takes up to much of the youngsters time. Now NiP are looking once more to the west in order to find the suitable replacement.
Joona ”natu” Leppänen will step into the coaching role on the team. Along side fellow Finnish player Aleksi ”allu” Jalli, natu will be the one making sure the team is on point and well prepared ahead of the matches.
– What I think, and hope, is that we not only will be considered amongst the top teams in terms of preparation. But also that natu will be the one to clamp down on the team when stuff don’t work or if there’s something we need to get better at, HeatoN, team manager of Ninjas in Pyjamas, tells Aftonbladet Esport.
How will the communication work in the team?
– Natu actually speaks better Swedish than ally, so there won’t be any problems on that part.
What was the reason you moved on from pita?
– Actually there was only one reason for that move. Pita works incredibly hard at his new work at SEB, so he didn’t have the time to commit and continue on with the team.
Did allu have anything to do with the acquirement of natus services?
– The fact that we already did have a Finnish player on the squad didn’t influence our decision the least. Natu was our first choice when Pita couldn’t continue.
