KennyS ahead of the major: It’s gonna be really tough to beat Fnatic
avTeam EnyvUs won IEM at Gamescom in convincing fashion beating one of the best teams in the world on three straight maps.
Now the team will start their bootcamp in order to fix a few issues they saw during the tournament.
– You can always improve on the communication. It’s never perfect and need constant tweaking, Kenny ”kennyS” Schrub says to Aftonbladet Esport.
Team EnvyUs won their first LAN event with the new squad. After acquiring Kenny ”kennyS” Schrub and Dan ”apex” Madesclaire from Titan the team prevailed during IEM at Gamescom, displaying a high level of skill and even taking down Team SoloMid four times.
Only two weeks remain until we will see the best teams in the world once again travel to Cologne in order to take part in the second major of the year. Team EnvyUs will start bootcamping ahead of the tournament soon and will remain at the camp until they have to travel to Cologne.
– We’re gonna have a really long bootcamp in order to prepare ourselves before ESL One, kennyS says to Aftonbladet Esport.
”TSM always beats Fnatic in skill”
During the last day of the much appreciated tournament format at Gamescom, Team EnvyUs went head to head with Team SoloMid three straight times, winning every map during the ”finals”. Besides the danes, the reigning major champions Fnatic will be one of the top contenders for the trophy in a couple of weeks. Something KennyS acknowledges.
– I think that TSM always beats Fnatic in skill, but at the same time Fnatic are the best team in the world. It’s gonna be really tough. I don’t know if we can beat them, and we have obviously not played them with this line up, but we will see if we can find a tactic that could beat them.
You told us a couple of days ago that your goal for ESL One is to reach the playoffs. Have your goals changed after winning this tournament?
– No. Our main objective is still to make it out of the group stages.
