Despite winning maps against top teams and getting to the finals of the Swedish championship in CS:GO, the greater success story of Team Acer is yet to be told. Now they face a new challenge: To replace their in-game leader Björn ”Threat” Pers.

When the team Chosen saw the light of day it was two rusty 1.6-veterans, an experienced CS:GO-player and two relatively unknown players that were brought together. Soon they were recruited by Team Acer but despite winning a few maps here and there against top teams like Fnatic, and getting a silver medal in the Swedish Championships, the team hasn’t seen any larger success. Faced with the reality of Björn ”Threat” Pers leaving to study in Japan and casting for FaceIT, the team will have the tough task to replace the veteran.
– When we lose Björn we will lose the father of our team. We won’t have that someone to keep things in order and it’s going to be a lot of chaos, Team Acer player Frej ”KHRYSTAL ”Sjöström tells Aftonbladet Esport.

The replacements name starts with ”D”

After winning in the semifinals of the Swedish Chamipionship, KHRYSTAL revealed that they had found a replacement for Threat and that his name starts with ”D”. The theories were many and names like Delpan, Devilwalk and Dennis were thrown around. In an interview with Aftonbladet Esport KHRYSTAL now reveals that it was Dennis ”Dennis” Edman they had in mind all along. But only for the finals of the Swedish Championship at Dreamhack Summer.
– It was supposed to be Dennis, but then he had to cancel close to the event so instead we quickly got Devilwalk, John ”Wenton” Eriksson from Team Acer tells Aftonbladet Esport.

Will the team stick together?
–Hopefully, that’s the plan at least. We all want to play, but it’s all about finding a last player with good chemistry so we can get the motivation going, John ”Wenton” Eriksson says. KHRYSTAL adds:
– Nothing is set. We are currently four players in the lineup and we’ll see what happends next, how much we change up, who will continue playing and even where we will be playing.

KHRYSTAL says the goal is to play fulltime, but that his time in Team Acer might be coming to an end. The team have been talking with other organizations and recieved other offers. More information is expected to come by the end of June.

”The most unserious match I’ve ever played”

Before the finals of the Swedish Championship it was set that Jonatan ”Devilwalk” Lundberg would play as a stand-in for Threat, but then in the last second Christian ”Spitfire” Schiölde called in sick and was replaced by Fragbite’s editor in chief, André ”Rich” Åkerblom.
– It could very well be the most unserious CS-match I have ever played, at least on LAN. We pretty much had nothing prepared. I think we decided what we wanted to do on the pistol round, but after that it was like ”Eh, where are we holding?”. It was worse than a mix online, KHRYSTAL says.
