LGB coach after advancement: ”A lot of progress can happen”
avLGB Esports have qualified for ESL One Katowice. After a brilliant victory over Flipsid3 Tactics on Inferno the Norwegian side have now advanced to the organizations first major LAN.
– It feels amazing. It was a bumpy road to the qualifiers, but we showed everyone that we are capable of playing against the best, team coach, Kevin Mikkelsen, told Aftonbladet Esports after the qualification.
LGB Esports have started making a name for themselves in the CS:GO-community again. The newly recruited Norwegian team qualified to Pantamera, where they fell short facing some – if not the – best teams in the world. Though winning just one game, they still earned attention for their great team play and overall focus. Now they have proven once more that they are a team on the rise, after qualifying to ESL One Katowice.
– Our goal is always to be the best in the world. , the coach Kevin Mikkelsen told Aftonbladet after their victory over Flipsid3 Tactics.
The team will now go in to a long month of hard work and a lot of training. Morten ”Zeves” Vollan told Anders Blume shortly after LGB Esports advancement to Katowice that the team will have to come up with a new set of tactics before the major.
– We have been putting a lot of effort to learn the usual maps in the pool. When we get home we need to practice five to six times a week.
When asked if any one player stood out in the game against Flipsid3 Tactics, the coach told Aftonbladet Esport that it was a team effort.
– All of them stood out when it mattered, i cant put a finger on a single player, they all performed very well and I’m very proud of the team, he said and continued:
– Pantamera was more of a test for the team in order for them to get the LAN feeling. Some of our players are not that experienced with big events, so it was a nice chance to get.
What are your ambitions for Katowice?
– I can’t, and won’t, say that it is realistic at this moment. But the team have a month to improve prior to the major in Katowice, and a lot of progress can happen in that time.
