After two lan finals and two final losses in two weeks, Titan is back with a vengeance in the top of the competitive CS:GO scene.
And looking towards the upcoming major in Katowice, Mathieu ’Maniac’ Quiquerez anticipates a very different starting point for his team.
– Katowice will be harder, because there we will be a favourite and have pressure. Here we were still challengers, he says.

Following the defeat against NiP at Assembly Winter last weekend, Titan once again made it to a LAN finals at Pantamera CS:GO Challenge but once again fell against a Swedish adversary. With a 2-0 defeat against Fnatic, the last map going deep into overtime, Mathieu ”Maniac” Quiquerez and his team will once again have to cash a second place check.
But the captain still seems content with what they’ve shown in their return to the competitive scene, following the Hovik ”KQLY” Tovmassian VAC ban and subsequent disqualification from DreamHack Winter.
– Two finals in two tournaments is ok, and we were so close, he says putting up his index finger next to his thumb in a demonstration.

Dominated their way through the group stage

The team went through the group stage only losing against an already eliminated Virtus.Pro and qualified directly for the finals. After the defeat there, the captain predicts that their experience in Katowice will be different from what they’ve experienced so far in terms of expectations placed on the team.
– Katowice will be harder, because there we will be a favourite and have pressure. Here we were still challengers, he says.
