Pimp received ”huge and lucrative” offer from one of the bigggest brands in the world
avThe Danish star Jacob ”Pimp” Winneche left Team Dignitas.
Instead he joined forces with SK Gaming, but while he stood without organization an enormous offer came from North America.
– Despite that the offer was very lucrative and from a huge organisation it wasn’t something I wanted, Pimp tells Aftonbladet Esport.
Jacob ”Pimp” Winneche has long been considered one of the best danish talents. Along with his Team Dignitas they belonged amongst the top teams a few months back.
Recently however, Pimp was let go from Dignitas in a move that saw the Danish squad switch two players. On Tuesday SK Gaming announced that Pimp had been recruited for their lineup, along with Swedish veteran Andreas ”MODDII” Fridh and Danish up and comer Emil ”Magiskb0Y” Reif.
However, in talks with Aftonbladet Esport, Pimp says there also were many other good offers on the table, in particular one from North America. Without revealing any details he says one of the world’s biggest brands wanted him to build a new team, but that he preferred to go with SK.
– I know I can make this a top 10 team in the world, he says.
Was it something you considered?
– It was something I considered, yes, but it wouldn’t have been with an already established roster, which meant it would be a very unsure move. And combined unsureness with moving to a new continent. Despite that the offer was very lucrative and from a huge organisation it wasn’t something I wanted.
How does it feel in SK so far?
– To soon to tell, I can’t play just yet. We’ll start Monday in SK. Right now we’re just talking about how we want things to run.
