We were probably a lot of people who was a bit surprised as Markus ”pronax” Wallsten announced that he would leave the greatest team of all time in the CS:GO scene.
After several major victories and even more tournament triumphs the world famous IGL wanted to create his own future – and recently he created a team full of friends.
– Right now I understand that people look at us as gang of buddies, but we definitely have higher ambitions than that, he says as the team prepared to compete in the upcoming Pantamera cup in central Stockholm.

Markus ”pronax” Wallsten’s resume from Fnatic is what can only be described as a long read. The team chocked the world as they won Dreamhack Winter 2013 after defeating the overwhelming favorites during the tournament, Ninjas in Pyjamas, in the finals.

Following the victory in Jönköping, the team fell into a bit of a slump, but eventually – with the addition of Olof ”olofmeister” Kajbjer and Freddy ”KRiMZ” Johansson – the team would become the greatest five man roster the Counter-Strike world has ever seen.

But that time is now a distant past. Pronax, alongside his old friends Andreas ”schneider” Lindberg, Mathias ”pauf” Köhler, Simon ”twist” Eliason and Jonatan ”Devilwalk” Lundberg have created the foundation to what could become a third contender from Sweden.

The huge optimism in the team took a large turn for the worse as Devilwalk announced that he would be forced to retire from Counter-Strike due to injury. Team Ancient, as the squad call them selfs, have since acquired Jonas ”Lekr0” Olofsson are now competing in the teams first official LAN tournament.
– Pantamera will be the first LAN we travel to together and the excitement couldn’t be greater, the former Fnatic IGL says to Aftonbladet Esport and continues:
– To visit and play at Inferno Online is always a pleasure and you can not thank them enough for what they have done both for CS:GO and esports, he says in regards to the venue of the tournament in central Stockholm.

As he announced that he would leave Fnatic, pronax also stated that he would take a prolonged vacation from CS:GO. Now the celebrated star is back and it is something that he has been looking forward for a long time.
– It feels awesome to have begun playing again after a few months off from competing. Right now I understand that people look at us as gang of buddies, but we definitely have higher ambitions than that, but first and foremost we want to see how we stand compared to the other top tier teams and Pantamera is a good tourney for us to see that, he concludes.
