They left London Conspiracy and found a new home in LGB Esports – a revived organisation whos old team made the quarterfinals during the major in Katowice last year.
And Ruben ”Rubino” Villarroel recognizes that his squad will face a lot of pressure when they make their competitive debut.
– We have big shoes to fill since the old lineup was really good. We expect to be a team that can beat everyone in the world, he says.

The teams’ stint with London Conspiracy was a short one, even though Ruben ”Rubino” Villarroel and Håvard ”rain” Nygaard had been in the organisation with the previous lineup as well. Regarding the sudden departure, Rubino doesn’t want to say anything that he hasn’t already said.
– There’s nothing wrong with London Conspiracy, but we had some different views on stuff and that was that.

”We can focus on the game”

But the team quickly found a new home as they were approached by LGB Esports, newly revived by investment company Diglife, and had to make a snap decision.
– It hasn’t been a long process, we started talking maybe one week ago, he says the day before New Year’s Eve.

Regarding LGB, he says the team will be able to put all their efforts into the game instead of thinking about wether or not they’ll get the chance to travel to competitions.
– We know that it’s a good organisation and we are pleased that we can focus on the game. We never have to be afraid of not having enough money to go to events, he says.

”They’re hungry to give one hundred percent”

When rumors started circulating that the new LGB would be former London Conspiracy and not a newly formed Swedish team, some voices were raised regarding the capacity of the norwegian squad. Rubino admits that his new lineup will have to prove themselves in combat.
– We have big shoes to fill since the old lineup was really good but I think we can be a good team with more practice and all the support we’re gonna get. The new team is better socially since four of us are friends in real life, and the new guys are really hungry to show themselves. They’re up and coming players, norwegians know who they are but not everyone else. They’re hungry to give one hundred percent and that’s really important when you’re a new team that wants to be good.

What will your goals be during 2015?

– Our expectations is to atleast qualify for the major tournaments this year, and be a team that can beat every team in the world. Not that we’re gonna be a top 1 team but a threat to everyone.
