Schneider declines Mousesports offer due to personal reasons
avFormer Fnatic player Andreas ”Schneider” Lindberg’s role as Mousesports standin was hugely successful, and during his run with the team they qualified for both the ESEA- and Game Show League finals.
But he will not be filling a permanent spot on the team, as he now takes a hiatus from the game for personal reasons.
– They asked me to keep playing with them but due to stuff going on in my life I had to decline and that’s very sad of course, he tells Aftonbladet Esport.
When Fnatic changed their lineup after winning the Swedish Championships in June, Schneider was kicked out of the team. After receiving the news he was no longer wanted in the squad, he took a month-long break from CS:GO, before trying to put together a new Swedish team for the Flipside Tactics organisation.
– I got my motivation back and tried to build my own team with players I thought had a lot of potential to be great. But during my short time with Flipsid3, we had one problem after another, and tried everything to make the team work. After three player changes I hit a wall, and have never been less motivated to play CS:GO.
”Didn’t know what to expect”
After another 1,5 month break, a player from Mousesports called Schneider and asked him to fill an empty spot on the team.
– I just said that I could try it out and see how it goes. The first week, I was really off my game, but after a while I felt that I reached at least 80 percent of my capacity. I didn’t really know what to expect from Mousesports but when I play I always want to be the best and win against every team, so I just jumped into the team wanting to improve it.
”Beating Fnatic put a smile on my face”
And the results spoke for themselves, during his short run he managed to qualify for two LAN finals with his new squad.
– I think we performed really well, and beat both Virtus.Pro and Titan several times. Plus, we qualified for both the ESEA- and the Game Show League-finals.
Also, he got to beat his old team. One week into his standin with Mousesports he faced Fnatic in the Hitbox Arena Championship.
– Beating them felt good, but you have to keep in mind that it was a BO1 in an online league. It put a smile on my face but nothing more.
”Wish they would’ve talked things through”
But now, the journey with Mousesports will end for Schneider, as his personal life needs tending to.
– After I got kicked from Fnatic, some things happened in my life. Things that make it impossible for me to pursue a professional career at the moment. Mousesports asked me to play with them full time, but I had to decline and that’s very sad of course. Now, I will go on another hiatus and you will probably only see me play if it’s in the national team or as a standin somewhere.
What are your feelings towards Fnatic now, after what happened?
– When my best friends decided to kick me from the team, I was of course incredibly disappointed. But now I feel there are a lot of things I could’ve done differently, just like the rest of the team could’ve done things differently. Frankly, we were too lazy and our team spirit had been crushed over and over. Some people in the team needed new blood to build up a new mentality. But I still wish they would’ve talked things through instead of kicking me out straight away.
