Schneider: ”Hoping JW can lead the way in tough situations”
avTeam Property have travelled to the British Island to face some of the best teams in the world when Gfinity CS:GO Spring Masters starts this weekend.
And with them in the team they have none other than a fresh major champion, as Fnatic star JW will replace zende during the tournament.
– He’s perhaps the best player in the world so of course we’re hoping he can lead the way in tough situations, Andreas ”schneider” Lindberg tells Aftonbladet Esport.
The newly revived Swedish squad Team Property will get the toughest possible start at Gfinity CS:GO Spring Masters in London this weekend. They’ve ended up in the same group as major champions Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team EnVyUs. Also, Team Property will go into the tournament with a standin, but not just any standin.
– It’s both good and bad. We’ll of course lose some of our teamplay and we have to switch positions so that Jesper ”JW” Wecksell is comfortable. But he’s perhaps the best player in the world so of course we’re hoping he can lead the way in tough situations. It’s sad that Eric ”zende” Sundeqvist couldn’t make it, because this would be our first international tournament as a team. But I’m happy that we got such a good player and friend as a standin, Andreas ”schneider” Lindberg tells Aftonbladet Esport.
”Vuggo has been a bit of a father”
One of the keys behind Fnatic’s recent major win was how they scouted their opponents. Before ESL One Katowice, they were assisted by Team Property managed Viktor ”vuggo” Jendeby who helped Jonatan ”Devilwalk” Lundberg to break down the opponent’s tactics. Now Schneider explains how important vuggo is for Team Property as well.
– He’s a good manager, he helps us with little tips here and there, how teams play and what we can do to counteract it. And he’s been a bit of a father and makes us move on from hard situations, so his work absolutely helps us.
As an outsider you get the feeling you have a good team chemistry, beside the obvious talent. But what will it take for you to break into the absolute top in the world?
– Yes, we’re good friends and have a good team spirit, but friendship isn’t everything. I think wee need more time as a team as well as individually. Simon ”twist” Eliasson and I are probably a bit ahead of the others with our experience in CS:GO in mind, but the others are really talented and are quick learners. So I would say we need more time to reach the top.
”Don’t think anyone has noticed anything related to Emilio”
Unfortunately, the Team Property name was smeared after the Joel ”emilio” Mako VAC scandal. Is that something you notice, even though none of you were close to it? And is that something that might motivate you more?
– I don’t think anyone in the team has noticed anything related to emilio. What he did was on him alone and not on the team or the organization. For us as players we haven’t noticed anything but for the organization it could probably have been a huge blow. It doesn’t motivate me anymore than I already am but of course we want to make Team Property proud, always.
You’ve been a star in the community for a long time. With everything you have to offer in terms of talent and experience, what would you say is the most important?
– Personally I think experience can take you very far. That’s what gives you the ability to do what’s best for the team in every situation. Everyone who are professionals in the top 15 teams have talent, aim and so on, but at the end of the day it’s the ones who can make the best decisions in games who win. To be cool and wait for the right opportunity and get the easiest frags possible.
”pauf can really mow people down”
Who should we keep an eye out for during your games?
– Simon is definitely awesome, people already know that. I think people should keep an eye on Mathias ”pauf” Köhler, he can really mow people down left and right when he gets going. And I don’t want André ”berg” Kjellberg to be forgotten. He has a tough role in the team with a lot of hard positions but he can still win games for us thanks to important frags or calls.
Team Property start their Gfinity journey against Team EnVyUs. The game starts 10PM on Friday.
