Team Acers hints towards stepping into CS:GO became a reality on Tuesday as they announced their new CS:GO squad.
Among the players in the team is 1.6 legend Björn ”Threat” Pers, who thinks they need more practice to become a top team.
– People might think we have something to live up to, but we don’t. This is a new game and a new chapter, Björn ”Threat” Pers tells Aftonbladet Esport.

Team Acer are known for their strong Starcraft 2 squad and have now picked up their first CS:GO team. In the all-Swedish lineup we find ex-Team Property player Christian ”Spitfire” Schiölde together with 1.6 legends Frej ”kHRYSTAL” Sjöberg and Björn ”Threat” Pers. The team most recently crushed all opponents in the Swedish Championship, ”Esport-SM”, playing under the name Chosen. But now, that name is a thing of the past as they put on their new Team Acer jerseys.
– I know Team Acer are strong in Starcraft 2 plus they are a big company, so it feels great to be approached by such a big and serious organization, Björn ”Threat” Pers tells Aftonbladet Esport.

”This is a new chapter”

Threat is famous for playing in the old Fnatic line-up together with Patrik ”Carn” Sättermon and for his world record in most kills within twelve hours. Before retiring Threat played along side Frej ”kHRYSTAL” Sjöström in Lions. Even though the 1.6 legends are well known players for a lot of people, Threat do not feel any extra pressure to deliver results.
– Some people might think we have something to live up to when they see our nicknames, but we don’t. 1.6 was a different game and many years ago. This feels like a new chapter.

”Experience comes with age”

All players on the line-up are studying or working giving them only their spare time for Counter-Strike. With the backing from Team Acer the Swedes are looking to travel around and compete in more offline tournaments.
– We are getting a bit tired of playing online-qualifiers, Threat says.
The first stop is Copenhagen Games in April where they hope to place at least in the top 5. To the people doubting them Threat says:
–I guess you’ll have to spectate us to see that we can still play, we’re somewhat rusty but we are just getting started. But we are probably not as rusty as people might think, and experience comes with age, Threat tells Aftonbladet Esport.
