Zaaz heartwarming story goes viral on Facebook

av Tobias Lundgren

Bad Monkey Gaming profile Zainab ”Zaaz” Turkie paid the plane tickets for a beggar to help him get home.
Now the heartwarming story has gone viral on Facebook.
– I felt in my heart I had to help him, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night, she tells Aftonbladet.

During one of her shifts at a travel agency in Malmoe, a limping man in his fifties speaking only broken swedish and english entered the office wanting to reschedule a plane ticket home to Bucharest. But since the ticket was non-rebookable, she had to explain to the man that he had to purchase a new one.
– He got really sad and told me he couldn’t afford a new ticket. He sat down and said he had to go home to have surgery performed on his leg, she says.

”Couldn’t hold back my tears”

She then recognized the man as a beggar usually sitting outside the local grocery store.
– I have a hard time crying in front of people, but it was as if my emotions took control of me. I felt in my heart I had to help him, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night.
Said and done, she asked for the man’s ID and booked the flight.
– When I told him I had paid for his ticket he started crying and then I couldn’t hold back my tears any more.

As she handed the tickets to the man he told her:
”I thank god that there are people like you, I had given up hope. I thank you so much, I would’ve been without food if I’d paid for this trip”.

”They’re not hurting anyone”

Her story has since gone viral on Facebook, with 2500 shares at this moment. And she wishes that more people would help out the way she did.
– So many people look down on the beggars, but these people need help. They’re not hurting anyone just sitting there, why are people so mean? We need to start helping eachother.
