Dendi on 6.82: ”You are doing the right thing when you feed”

av Björn Ehrnberg

Danil ”Dendi” Inshutin, by many considered the brightest shining star in Dota2, has recently ended a long trip throughout the world. Three stops. Three tournaments. And a trip through the new patch.
–  It’s absurd. You are doing the right thing when you feed.

In a short time span Na’Vi has travelled more or less all across the globe. The adventure began with Game Show Dota 2 League in Moscow. A tournament plagued with technical issues and especially people trying to disrupt the games.
– The tournament was hard and unpleasant. We suffered numerous DDoS-attacks, thus we couldn’t play. All my impressions are obscured by the attacks.

Before playing the Game Show Dota 2 League, the new 6.82 patch was released. The teams had little to no time to prepare for the new meta in the game, and, as Dendi points out – the teams were not in the upper echelon of elite Dota 2 teams. But then WCA rolled around.
– While facing Newbee in WCA we finally realized that Dota had turned upside down. We couldn’t enter the high grounds and if you don’t have heroes that can break through, the game will linger, the star admits during the interview and continue:
– If the game lingers, net worth and gold will begin to even out after 2-3 exchanges. Had we have played the first game against Newbee on 6.81 we probably would’ve won.

”Team will practice greed and farm”

It comes as no surprise that the longer the game last, the more advantageous heroes with more late game potential will be. But that’s not the only switch up from 6.81 according to not only experts, but probably the biggest expert of them all. Dendi bring fourth the example pieliedie feeding during ESL.
– In this version if a hero with small net worth and low experience is killed, the killer doesn’t get much out of the battle. Pieliedie would go and die ten times and that would be beneficial for his team. Killing him would not bring much experience or money to the other team, but since he went in to the forrest he attracted enemies to that spot, the star tells Na’Vi’s reporter and add:
– That’s why I don’t like this new version.

”The teams will practice greed”

Dendi continues to speak about the importance of farming rather than killing enemies in 6.82. At any point in the game a team leading by a lot of frags might lose a big team fight and the entire game is flipped upside down. Despite Valves effort to bring more excitement to Dota 2, the famous Ukrainian doesn’t believe the changes will deliver more entertainment for the spectators.
– No. On the contrary. As soon as people understand how this version works, the teams will practice greed and farm.
