Emil’s thoughts on CS:GO
avOur newest writer Emil Sommer shares his thoughts and view on Team Propertys male CS:GO team
Counter Strike, a game of mindless slaughter, illogical goals and exaggerated perspectives of violence. At least that is what my parents always thought of it. I did not, however, let that stop me from enjoying one of my all-time favorite games in the future. As opposed to my lovely mother and father I witnessed something else; I saw the glory of teamwork, the importance of strategies and the eternal hunger for victory – even after countless defeats.
I joined the Counter Strike community rather late, with only 450 hours played to this date and close to no experience with previous Counter Strike games. However; with curiosity, help from fellow players and (fragile) patience I have gained wisdom. To this day I have played countless of games, I have unboxed cases, I have acquired skins and I have tragically lost them on bets. But midst the tears my eyes fell upon a rising champion. And its name – is Property.
Team Property is an up and coming team to the Counter Strike scene that caught my attention from the first game I witnessed them playing. Not only because they share the same national flag as myself, which admittedly is a factor indeed, but because they possess something other teams seems to occasionally lack; The will to carry on. I remember I placed a bet on one of their matches at the time and said to myself “Let’s see what they got in store.” And I was not disappointed. Any other day I would have thanked for the skins and moved on to place them on a different game, but this time I just sat there and smiled. Suddenly the skins did not matter. Now the team behind the victory did.
Recently there has been an evident struggle for the team. After having the chances of playing in ESL | Katowice eliminated in the group-stage and of late reaching a losing-streak of 7 matches it did not look bright for the Swedish team. Despite this, yesterday’s performance against the top-tier team Dignitas with a 2-0 victory, both 16-10 in favor of Property, they proved themselves to be fearsome competitors on the field once again. And with the coming Global Offensive Champion League (GOCL) tournament, where they are facing off against the likes of Virtus Pro and Gamers 2, they have the opportunities to prove they are still a force to be reckoned with.
They may stand in the shades of giants as NIP and Fnatic but slowly and steadily they are emitting a light of their own. I am certain that the sparks they create from fighting will ignite a fire that will lift them to the skies. The names Berg, Pauf, Schneider, Twist and Zende will be engraved in the hearts of whoever chooses to follow their path to glory.
They will show the entire world that the fields of Counter Strike: Global Offensive – is their property
