Introducing the NiP DOTA 2 players, Elias ”Sealkid” Merta

av Joachim Rittfeldt Hofvenschiöld

NiPABToday we introduce the hard support player of the DOTA 2 team, just like handsken, he is also a former HoN player and his name is Elias ”Sealkid” Merta,

Tell us more about yourself, how did you start off your gaming career?

My name is Elias Merta, I’m 21 years old. I enjoy being with friends and playing games. Gaming has been a hobby I’ve been spending my whole life with. My competetive mindset started when I was about 18 years old, I started playing world of warcraft with friends, I used to play alot of pvp/ arena. Later on I switched to Heroes of Newerth when a friend of my suggested it to me and I liked it really much. I played it for a bit and wanted to play it more serious so I searched for a team and met Handsken online and we created a team.

What is your previous experience before you joined ventures with Ninjas in Pyjamas?

I have been playing competetive HoN for 1-2 years for some of the best teams such as Lions esportclub and Bad monkey gaming. Later on me and Handsken realized we wanted to venture into DotA 2 due to the big scene and we ended up with this team. Everything went pretty fast, the switch between HoN and DotA 2 due to the similarities in the game.

What is your role in the team?

My role in the team is the Hard support, I’m the one who stacks the jungle camps and buys the ward. I think it’s a really fun role but it’s pretty hard to master because it’s all about positioning, you’re the squishy target that doesn’t get the big items.

What are your expectations of the team?

I think we are a really stable and growing team, we haven’t been playing that long together but I think we can reach far. Our goal as a team is to get to The International and play as good as we can.
