Player Positions for Dust2
avOn each map, the angles held are different and players have the sites they often call home. While in a highly fluid game such as Counter Strike the positions are subject to change, in this series we’re going to look at the main position for each Ninja on the CT side of the maps.
This first edition will be focused on the old favourite of Match Making games, the one map even people who don’t play the game can probably find their way around, Dust 2.
Spot 1: In position number one, lately you will find the in game leader once more, Xizt. Whether here or a little further towards the site, Long has been under the watchful eye of Landström in recent games.

Spot 2: In position number two, you will often find a friendly Finn, Allu and his AWP, helping to hold long early on. However, the versatile sharpshooter will often relocate to any of the green dots shown on the map around the A site. The first being the car to hold the entrance onto site from short from a distance. The second being the ramp at A site to have the option of holding short and long from one position. However, the third green dot is sometimes his starting position, holding short from a tight angle before dropping off to one of the other two.

Spot 3: In position number three, you can be hopeful of finding the shadowy figure, GeT_RiGhT. This position is best utilized to cover the mid area stopping an attempt by the terrorist side to execute a mid to B strategy. However it is not always the angle held. Other options come in the way of the purple dots with one being a solo angle and one being the two man stack near the doors. With this being said, GeT_RiGhT’s position is well known to be unfixed and unpredictable. If you haven’t found him by the time you make it to mid or a site, I’d advise looking behind you.

Spot 4/5: In positions four and five, you will often find the dynamic duo F0rest and Friberg. Whether set up with an AWP, M4 or the occasional auto sniper, early in the round it is the positions job to hold tunnels. The orange dots spread around the B site are the less aggressive versions of the B hold that are often utilized depending on the situation of the round or the team being faced. If the B tunnels seems cold, the position by the window and the blue dot outside of doors are often used to help offer the ability to cover mid and tunnels at the same time. If the double stack in position three is used, one of these players are often the ones to be the second body.

These positions are the base to a solid Ninjas in Pyjamas CT sided hold on Dust 2. While the players in the particular positions change and these are far from the only available options, they are the most commonly used in our games. While these positions are important, the key to a game is flexibility and the ability to adapt your game to what your opponent throws at you.
