On Thursday, Hampus ”Promisq” Abrahamsson introduced himself to the League of Legends community as his Elements flattened Gambit Gaming.
The Swede was lauded by team captain Froggen after the game, but despite the praise the support stays focused on the next task.
– It was just one game in a BO1 and anything can happen in the next game and onward, he tells Aftonbladet Esport.

Promisq went into the first LCS game in his career looking to prove the doubters wrong and show that he’s worthy of a position in Elements. At first, him and Eric ”Tabzz” van Helvert” were heavily pushed back in the bot lane by newly formed duo Konstantinos ”FORG1VEN” Tzortziou and Edward ”GoSu Pepper” Abgaryan, but the rookie remained calm and stuck to the plan.
– It was extra shaky the first three or four minutes, but it quickly wore off. That’s how that lane should be played out. If you pick Urgot you’ll automatically get pushed in, so it doesn’t matter if it’s FORG1VEN or any other ADC basically.

”Good to get the first game out of the way”

Elements soon gained control of the game, and when the first minutes had passed promisq showed some great support play as he went 0-1-20 as Gambit Gaming were completely shut down.
– It’s hard to say if we were that good or if Gambit were bad but they didn’t play as they should’ve if you look at the picks. But we had some good teamfights too.
After the game, promisq was applauded both by team captain Froggen and by the LCS casters. And the Swede says it feels good to get off to a good start in his new life as an LCS professional.
– It really only helps your confidence, but it still feels good to get the first game out of the way. Now I know what to expect every week until the playoffs so we really just have to grind on.

”I definitely think I can improve”

Have you gotten a lot of praise after the debut?
– I wouldn’t say I’ve been praised a lot, but the team is satisfied.

What were your feelings going up on the stage for the first time, right before you started playing?
– It’s definitely something I will remember, it’s a milestone in my career.

And how would you judge your own performance?
– I think it was pretty spotless, I can’t really see any mistakes mechanically. But we haven’t gone through the game in detail with wards and rotations, so I definitely think I can improve.
– I wouldn’t say I’ve proven that I can perform on this level. It was just one game in a BO1 and anything can happen in the next game and onward. So I feel I need more games to judge.

Tonight, Elements face the LCS runners-up Unicorns of Love. And promisq says he doesn’t really know what to expect from the opponents who are known for their unorthodox play style.
– It’s hard to predict since UoL are playing a pretty unique style, so it’s gonna be interesting.
