Honeydew is an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium, and a good source of vitamin B6, thiamine, niacin, copper, and folate.

One cup of honeydew has as much potassium as a medium banana, and only half the calories.

What does potassium do for the body?

Regulates heart function, reduces blood pressure, required for normal fluid balance, fundamental for normal nerve & muscle function, important for kidney function, helps lungs eliminate carbon dioxide, + maintains acid/alkali balance.
