Yep, here, landed. Was starving cause there was nothing, nada, to eat on the flight, and this is the best salad that the Hotel Martinez in Cannes has to offer. Might as well enjoy before the tummy ache (haha). Off to the fresh market in the morning… Have a walk-thru for our Calvin Klein event now and then bed (zzz). Night!

SO WHAT’S MSG?

Main Benefits

Vitamin C: Immune system super hero, helps heal wounds, & helps improve vision (your lens requires this daily…)

Manganese: Building block! Foundation for bones, blood, and connective tissue. Want to avoid osteoporosis? Well get this this stuff in your body for healthy bones…

Fiber: It’s all about the colon and digestion baby! Get it moving out… release. Most disease starts in the colon, so you don’t want your ”you-know-what” sitting there for too long. McNasty. Go to the bathroom at least twice a day.

Antioxidants: Ok hello,  very necessary… They are loyal protectors and nurturers of our cells, repelling disease, and promoting  good health. And you all know that they work wonders for your skin by now…. Come on, who doesn’t want to glow?

”The amount of antioxidants in your body is directly proportional to how long you will live.” – Dr. Richard Cutler, former Director of the  National Institute of Aging, Washington

RAW FOOD IN CANNES?

Cannes 3

Cannes

Cannes 2

And it’s that time of the year again…. Cannes Film Festival. Last year I had to surrender to baguettes and croissants, cause there was literally nothing to eat, but this year it’s not going to happen. I’m fully armed and prepared (that is if the airport security doesn’t take my almond butter because it’s a ”liquid”).

Anyways, anyone have any good suggestions as to where to find fresh juices, salads (without cheese and tuna), or just a local market?

I’m all about going local, and purchasing produce from nearby farmers. Union Square houses a beautiful fresh market every weekend and on Wednesdays. Check it out if you haven’t already… and make sure to see the sprout man!

WHEATGRASS SHOTS AT GRYNINGEN…. BOTTOMS UP!

av Filippa Salomonsson

wheatgrass1

Was skyping with a friend of mine today and he recommended Gryningen, a health store in Stockholm that serves fresh wheatgrass shots. They also have an amazing web shop for those of you who do not live in the area.

Why down one of these on a daily basis? Well… first of all wheatgrass increases red blood-cells and lowers blood pressure (yippi); it also cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tracts of debris (get rid of that junk). Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body’s enzyme system by enriching the blood.

Read more about the benefits on the Hippocrates site. My favorite…
