Stop the peer pressure 🙂 Today everyone opted for pasta… hmmm number one my stomach has a hard time digesting this food (How do I know? Listen to my body…) and number two, that’s not the best food to have at 9:30pm. So instead of complaining I made myself this simple little salad packed with tons of vitamins and minerals. It included a beautiful avocado, yellow tomatoes, walnuts, and dry red tomatoes. Done and done – going to bed feeling great.

Night ya’ll. Sweet dreams. xx

In Denver, Colorado right now, on my way to…. Vail baby! We’re a group of 8 college friends spending the weekend in the slopes. And I heard it just snowed and the sun is shining (thank you very much).

Anyways, packed these truffle almonds from SunBiotics as a snack and I have to say they are pretty tasty. Def recommend you try these fancy nuts… And their sprouted so easy to digest… And have probiotics.

Next week we fly out the LFB Media Group team to LA for Spirit Awards – we’re doing press for the backstage lounge! I always try to check out Planet Raw when I head out and hopefully this time we’ll have a lunch break so I can sneak off to this raw hot spot in Santa Monica.

What to get? Hmm not sure yet, but I do know they encourage you to have dessert first since fruit should not be eaten after a meal. I’m fine with that! All for helping my digestion…

FRUIT OF THE WEEK: DURIAN

av Filippa Salomonsson

Known as the ”King of Fruit,” this creamy almond tasting creation has plenty of phytonutrients, antioxidants, and protein, as well as high levels of Organosulfur Compounds. Ummm what the F*&%! does that do?  🙂 It helps stop the formation of blood clots (in simple terms) – which is helpful since I know there are a lot of ladies out there on the pill. The compound it also good for the skin’s complexion and mineralizing hair – so let it shine!

Earlier at Chelsea Market… This grocery store trip resulted in a fresh vibrant salad at home. All in all, a great sucess!

Tip: Add in dried cherry tomatoes in your salad – good for those looking for more filling and chewy food

THE YOGA OF AWARENESS

av Filippa Salomonsson

healthmedical_com-HotYoga

Practitioners call Kundalini yoga the yoga of awareness because it focuses primarily on practices that expand sensory awareness and intuition in order to raise individual consciousness.

Although the poses are not as physically challenging compared to other forms of yoga, Kundalini still increases endurance, strenght, flexibility and balance. It also stimulate certain glands, which leads to toning and cleansing of the body.

”Organizations such as the Mayo Clinic highlight that yoga techniques can reduce anxiety, stress, fatigue and depression. Kundalini incorporates many breathing techniques such as breath of fire and alternate nostril breathing that calm the mind, allowing for mental clarity,” (Livestrong.com).

Peace! Off to my 9am class at Kundalini Yoga East.

ADAM LEVINE DOES YOGA? WHO KNEW?

av Filippa Salomonsson

”I won’t lie: At the beginning, it was 100 percent physical for me. I had lactic acid from working out. I couldn’t touch my toes. People who say that they don’t do yoga for the physical benefits are full of it. It makes you look great, which is cool, but it also makes you feel great. Both are awesome. It puts me in a completely different place mentally now. The practice slows me down. Ihave to focus so intently, I’m not thinking about anything else. My mind is free of the typical thoughts.  Yoga really revolutionized my life.” – Maroon 5’s   Adam Levine in Yoga Journal’s September Issue.
