Have ever looked at the ingredients on a package (most of us have at one point) and wondered ”umm what does that word mean?” If you don’t know what those words mean, you don’t know what your food is made from. Tip of the day…. don’t eat it!! Simple as that… Below are a few words to avoid putting in your mouth. Remember, you are what you eat… The food you eat literally help rebuild your cells and become part of you!!

• Ambergris: From whale intestines. Used as a flavoring in foods and beverages.
• Arachidyl Proprionate: A wax that can be from animal fat. Alternatives are peanut and vegetable oil.
• Artificial Coloe, FD & C food color: Derived from coal-tar. Can contain trace amounts of lead and arsenic. Potenially carcinogenic.
• Bone Meal: Crushed or ground animal bones. In some vitamins and supplements as a source of calcium.
• Cystine: An amino acid found in urine and horsehair. Used as a nutrional supplement.
• Gelatin: Protein obtained by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, and/or bones with water from pigs and cows. Found in lots of candy and puddings.
• Nitrates: Potentially deadly, carcinogenic preservatives. Found in processed foods and meats.

Ate breakfast at the hotel… it included a mix of melon & pineapple! And make your own fresh squeezed orange juice. The good thing about hotels, is that they always have fruit as a choice, so you never have to stuff down white bread and sugary cereal as your first meal while you travel. Yuck…

On our way to a wedding this weekend, my friend Sofia and I made a pit stop at 42 Raw in the center of Copenhagen. They have great lunch, smoothie and snacks options. We had just finished breakfast so went for something lighter – a ball made from apricots, walnuts, and spirulina, topped with coconut flakes

Definitely did not have enough food with me backstage at the Emmy Awards… we worked 12 hour days and then stayed up all night to pitch the media. Learned my lesson – prepare, prepare, prepare! We did get some great celebs though…

Was just down on the red carpet shooting with KTLA here on Emmy grounds and got back to the hotel to find this beautiful fruit salad waiting for me. Yummy! Need to lock down a few hours at my computer now… Finalizing the press list.

So we are back in LA, this time for the Emmy Awards. Heading to Beverly Hills Juice for some energy before the big weekend begins… I’m sure a few stars there today…
