THE 4 AGREEMENTS

av Filippa Salomonsson

This year is the one. My focus is being the best version of myself both on the inside and outside. This is my affirmation for 2013. I say this to myself everyday, in present tense, as if it’s already happened. So ”coincidentally,” when I was in Miami in December, The Four Agreements book was recommended to me – I downloaded it on iTunes as an audio book and totally forgot about it, but last night I took the subway from the city out to Bromma and it flipped up on my iPod. Wow. No words. The lessons are so profound, so life changing, that it’s hard for me to summarize it for you.

Humans are programmed to make agreements with one another and to yourself, these agreements are like rules that we automatically follow, but some of these made up rules might have a negative effect on us. This book helps you rework your mind by applying 4 new agreements. One is only using ”impeccable words”words that are truthful and positive. And since I believe in the law of attraction – what goes out, must come back to you – this is a strong one.

Have you ever just monitored your thoughts? Do that, and see what kind of reality you are creating for yourself. What’s the first thought you think in the morning? Is it… ”I’m so grateful to wake up in this healthy beautiful body and can’t wait to see what this day has in store for me” or is it ”Oh great, I have nothing to wear today, nothing that looks good on my body. I have so much that needs to get done, I give up.”

Start by just becoming concious of your thoughts and when you say something negative, don’t judge yourself, just be kind and replace those words with something positive. Guys, our minds are so powerful, and as mentioned our words and thoughts create our current and future situations, so choose them wisely.

TAHINI QUINOA BOWL

av Filippa Salomonsson

Love creating variations of quinoa dishes – probably because I ate 100% raw for so long and have now started to incorporate a few natural whole foods (yes cooked) back into my diet. It feels right for me, especially when working out. Anyways back to the recipe… it includes quinoa, red onion, cucumber, spinach, and a tahini dressing – just mix lemon juice, water, salt, pepper, and tahini – duh!

WATCH THIS NOW: CRAZY SEXY CANCER

av Filippa Salomonsson

Crazy Sexy Cancer is an irreverent and uplifting documentary about a young woman looking for a cure and finding her life.

In 2003, 31-year-old actress/photographer Kris Carr was diagnosed with a rare and incurable cancer. Weeks later she began filming her story. Taking a seemingly tragic situation and turning it into a creative expression, Kris shared her inspirational story of survival with courage, strength, and lots of humor.

With experimental treatment as her only option, Kris became determined to find answers where there were none. She traveled throughout the country interviewing experts in alternative medicine as she tenaciously dove head first into a fascinating and often hilarious holistic world. Along the way, she met other vivacious young women determined to become survivors. Their stories are as poignant and exciting as the women who tell them. As Kris’s amazing journey unfolds, she realizes that healing is about truly living rather than fighting.

Crazy Sexy Cancer is more than a thought provoking film, it’s an attitude! It’s about rising to the challenge of life and turning lemons into champagne.

HEALTHY OR SICK? ASK YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM…

av Filippa Salomonsson

”More and more, science is finding that teeny tiny creatures living in your gut are there for a definite purpose. Known as your microbiome, about 100 trillion of these cells populate your body, particularly your intestines and other parts of your digestive system.”

”In fact, 90 percent of the genetic material in your body is not yours, but rather that of bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microorganisms that compose your microflora.”

”…the majority are good, and they work together as helpmates to aid your digestive system and keep you well. Beneficial bacteria, better known as probiotics, along with a host of other microorganisms, are so crucial to your health that researchers have compared them to ”a newly recognized organ.” For example, we now know that your microflora influence your: genetic expression, immune system, brain development, mental health, and memory, weight, and risk of numerous chronic and acute diseases, from diabetes to cancer.”

So what can do you to build a healthy gut? Eat fermented food (with probiotics) such as cabbage, carrots, kale, collards, etc. and take a daily probiotic first thing in the morning – wait 15 minutes before eating breakfast. This is especially important if you’re suffering from IBS, been there and done that. Ugh!

PICKING A BLUEBERRY (LOCATION)

av Filippa Salomonsson

Have always loved Blueberry since it opened… They have definitely lead the way for healthy eating here in Stockholm. Stopped by one of their locations for a late lunch today. Due to the holidays they didn’t have everything in stock, so I’ll be sure to swing back for a salad soon. Anyways, opted for a wrap instead, don’t usually eat this, but my blood sugar was low and needed real food – well good thing I did cause it was delicious!! It was served with a fruit smoothie, also yummy. Stefan went for the chicken wrap and gave that an A+ as well. Overall a fantastic option. They also have a sale on various products now so go stock up your cabinets for 2013.
