DO THE BEST YOU CAN

av Filippa Salomonsson

Ok here is the deal and my philosophy… it’s pretty simple, and all about doing the best you can. If the majority of what you put in your body is nutritious, you’re fine. Sometimes it’s good to treat yourself to something outside the lines, if it feels right to you and makes you happy, but remember to really enjoy it (don’t rush it down). Today I sipped on a soy chai, not a big fan of soy because of the effects it has on our hormones, but was following my intuition and craving something warm and soothing (and def don’t like diary).

So let’s go back to the concept – do the best you can and listen to your body. Don’t worry too much about being 100% perfectly raw, it’s better to follow your intuition, guiding you to a balanced life.

GOOD MORNING SWEDEN…

av Filippa Salomonsson

Breakfast à la Stockholmo… Got my new Vitamixer from a friend, we actually traded since he was moving to New York (thank you Universe), such perfect timing. So up and running here in Sweden.

Mixed two kale leaves, one cup of water, a teaspoon of spirulina, one small banana, and one teaspoon of nässelpulver.

RAW HOTSPOT: EAT! EKOAFFÄREN

av Filippa Salomonsson

Was introduced to Eat! Ekoaffären today, located on Tegnérgatan 3, and filled a cart full of breakfast goodies – from kale to organic bananas, and Renee Voltaire’s Smoothie Mix. It comes in two flavors but I grabbed the one with Acai, Spirulina, and Wheatgrass. Yum. This store is such a gem, has a ton of offerings, and organic produce. Swing by and stock up on natural foods for your body.

Check out their recipes online as well. I’ll be back soon for sure…

Recipe for the pasta can be found in ”Raw Food” by Erica Palmcrantz Aziz.

HIGHEST SOURCE OF PROTEIN?

av Filippa Salomonsson

What foods have the highest source of protein? Nope not meat… it’s actually algae, chlorella, and spirulina. All which can easily be added to a smoothie. I actually drink a glass of chlorella mixed with water every night as well. My favorite mix is banana, spinach and spirulina, and a touch of H2O. Breakfast is served.

So why do you need protein? It’s used to build new cells, maintain tissues, and synthesize new proteins that make it possible for you to perform basic bodily functions.
