WHAT WE GIVE OUT, WE GET BACK…

av Filippa Salomonsson

Louise Hay is by far one of my favorite people – just love her philosophy on life. Do you agree?

  • Every thought we think is creating our future.
  • The point of power is always in the present moment.
  • It’s only a thought, and thoughts can be changed.
  • We must release the past and forgive everyone.
  • We create every so-called illness in our body.
  • We must be willing to begin to learn to love ourselves.

WHY YOGA?

av Filippa Salomonsson

Yoga Benefits:

  • Flexibility: Yoga stretches not only your muscles but all of the soft tissues of your body. That includes ligaments, tendons, and the fascia sheath that surrounds your muscles. And no matter your level of yoga, you most likely will see benefits in a very short period of time.
  • Strength
  • Posture
  • Breathing: Improves lung capacity
  • Reduces Stress: Stops the mind’s chatter…
  • Heart Love: slows down heart rate…

24 HOURS WITH HURRICANE SANDY

av Filippa Salomonsson

Wow, mother earth is powerful, can’t believe the force of Hurricane Sandy. Subways down, empty flooded streets, tunnels closed, no open stores, no flights landing or departing, and hospitals & schools closed. Very thankful for the electricity in our apartment. Thought the wind was going to ripe off our living room window last night.

So what I have been doing for the last 24 hours? Got a run in yesterday morning and shoot the image of the FDR above, not a car in sight, besides that basically been glued to the news and made a this kale salad for dinner last night and this green smoothie this am.

Kale Salad: kale, parsley, red onion, quinoa, yellow pepper and 1/2 avocado. With lemon juice, olive oil, and celtic sea salt.

Smoothie: Kale, spinach, banana, bee pollen, and H2O.

QUESTION:

Hej! Jag undrar om din sambo också äter Raw food? 🙂

ANSWER:

Hej Ida,

I wish… haha. Stefan eats a little bit of everything. He loves his meat, but will def go to the vegan places with me as well. I learned that the important part is that we eat together and share meals.

Love,

Filippa

QUESTION:

Hi Filippa! I’d be interested in learning about your journey to raw food and your optimal exercise routine? What were your struggles before/along the way to mostly raw? Did you ever experiment with any other ways of eating (gluten-free, high protein etc)? Thanks!

ANSWER:

Hi Dasha,

Love your name btw! I actually JUST wrote about my raw food journey in The Green Smoothie Miracle, so check that out… My optimal exercise is jogging, spinning (SoulCycle), and all forms of yoga, from Kundalini to Bikram. In terms of struggles, it was probably the social part, got a few negative comments here and there, but today I don’t let anyone effect the choices that I make for MY body! It took a while to learn how to “cook” raw food as well, and finding a new routine. I’m NOT a big fan of high-protein, the body doesn’t need as much as we think. I do like Ayurveda and healthy vegan (even if it’s hot) ways of eating. No junky vegans habits though… like eating chips and crackers… etc.

If there are any other struggles you need help with during your transition, email me. Filippa@rawclarity.com

QUESTION:

Hi Filippa, I’d love to hear more about why you chose your career and how you got started in it! You’ve been so successful at a young age that I am very interested to know what you think are the keys to success are. Your career sounds incredibly fascinating and definitely something I’d want to pursue in the future (I’m a college senior). What would you advise as ways to get into the industry when your background isn’t in PR (mine’s in accounting). I’ll also be moving to NYC after graduation… any tips?

ANSWER:

Hi Tara,

I chose my career because I have a passion for events (and I’m a total perfectionist). The keys to success in my opinion is to dream big, work hard, make connections (anywhere you go) because that is how you’ll get your foot in the door, and do lots of free internships to gain experience and build your portfolio & resume.

If I were you I would offer to work for free the first couple of months, if possible. Prove your worth!! If you’re moving here, send me your resume girl. Filippa@lfbmediagroup.com

QUESTION:

Your hair’s so pretty Filippa! What’s your hair care routine? and skin care for that matter? Other than eating a clean raw diet, which I know does wonders, what are some of your favorite natural products/ routines? advice? Also, your morning and evening routines & ways to unwind, de-stress or stay organized would be cool to read about too! : )

ANSWER:

Hi Katie,

Thank you so much. I do like to take care of my hair… I always use a good conditioner and shampoo not matter what, and always with extra moisture. Ex. Wella or L’Oreal. For food, get your polyunsaturated fats in your diet, so lots of omega 3 + 6. Eat avocados and nuts and simply drink water

I don’t pack on the makeup, go for a natural look and only use face wash from Elemis. Lotions during the winter from John Masters Organics.

Love your question for unwinding… have lots of good tips! Like to journal, take a walk while listening to a good audiotape (from Louise Hay, Marianne Williamson, Gabrielle Bernstein, etc.), do yoga/stretching, simple breathing techniques, and meditate with candles lite all over the apartment.

Light,

Filippa
