Two weeks ago we hosted our first meetup for designers at Aftonbladet. The topic was 3 views on prototyping and we aimed to target different aspects of what prototyping could mean to different designers. And what a turn up! 90 designers attended and not to mention the 100 others on the waiting list. The spots were filled in a matter of hours, which only tells us that UX designers hunger for more meetups.
Wraps and beers were served and people seemed to enjoy a tuesday chill evening.
Our three different speakers were:
-
Ellen Sundh, from Coda Collective, will take the physical perspective of prototyping. We will be guided through some of her physical computing projects, focusing on her process, challenges and insight that came along with her experience.
-
Petter Silfver, designer from R/GA and featured on Smashing Magazine, will show us how we can reason, test, and learn when we design the tiniest details of the main centerpiece of our digital product – the navigation.
-
John-Philip Johansson, UX Developer at Avanade, will practically show us how front-end first and designing in the browser can help our ux-life. Tips and tricks included.
All in all it was a lot of fun to gather, albeit the bad ventilation in the room and the running over time, and we will definitely learn some lessons and improve until the next one.
If you’re interested in attending future meetups at Aftonbladet we’ll post these on the Experience Design Stockholm page on meetup.com. We will probably host another one in December when it’s cold and dark outside.
Brace yourself, winter meetup is coming!
